While we operate as a commercial hostel, what sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on our community. YMCA Bath Hostel is a part of YMCA Brunel Group, which operates with an entrepreneurial spin. Our two commercial hostels (YMCA Bath and The Bristol Wing) provide vital funds to help cover our central costs. This means that 100% of any donations we receive, from £5 to £500, can go directly to our charitable work. When you stay with us, you are helping us help others.
Supported Housing for Those at Risk:
Within YMCA Bath Hostel, we have specialist support workers working to provide supported housing and advice to residents who have been referred to us. We have rooms dedicated to those in need of supported housing, as well as an emergency room as part of our Nightstop program. In addition to this, we also provide daytime support in our Daystop room, as well as Health & Wellbeing support at YMCA Bath Gym.
Our commitment to the community goes beyond affordable accommodation. Within the walls of YMCA Bath Hostel, residents find more than just a place to sleep – they find a supportive community and a range of services aimed at rebuilding lives. From employment advice to mental health resources, we empower residents to take steps towards independence and self-sufficiency. This is the same for our service users across all aspects of our organisation.
The central offices for YMCA Brunel Group are also located in the building. From here we operate 55 sites providing, supported housing for young people aged 16-25 (25+ in special circumstances), youth work, childcare and family support, and health and wellbeing services. The charity works across Mendip, South Somerset, Bath, Bristol and Wiltshire working to meet the specific needs of our community.
