The older part of the building was actually opened over 150 years ago by George Williams – the founder of the YMCA.

The building has been added to and adjusted over the years and we now house the dormitories in the older building and then the newer part has accommodation plus the gym, hireable space, a day nursery for children and access to our charitable work and support staff.

The building is old and needs constant love and work. We are on a never ending journey to keep the building fresh and up to date – and being a charity that can a times take longer than we would like – but our commitment is there and we consistently invest and keep improving the experience for you.
